Spies R Us
What’s real and what’s not?
How fraud, fakery, and forgery have influenced the course of Canadian and international history.
Campers will be given the opportunity to learn about espionage, fraud, forgery, and how these criminal activities have affected history. The current issue of Fake News and its influence on our lives today will be a theme that runs throughout the week.
Campers at the Spies R Us camp can expect to be on the move throughout the week. The home base for camp will be the Diefenbaker Canada Centre, but campers will be outdoors each day implementing their spying skills. Each camper will develop a fictional spy throughout the course of the week and present that spy’s story in a mode most suited to the camper’s skill – comic book; short story; movie script, and so on. Campers will examine the history of spying and compare spying in 1939, 1969, and 2019. The camp will also take a look at how spying and espionage impacts the course of history.
To recover administration costs, there is a $50 non-refundable cancellation fee. For cancellations of less than two weeks prior to the start of the camp, no refund will be given. A full refund will be provided if camp is cancelled.
