Lots of us like to use dark colours in the garden; plants with purple foliage, or deep blues, or very dark shades of green. What about actually using black in the garden? Did you know there are a good number of plants that produce black flowers? Well, nearly so. On inspection some of them are very dark shades of red or purple but the visual effect in the garden is black. Black tulips, black hollyhocks, black callas, black irises, and even black petunias are all available! A few plants produce dark purple or black stems that can also be noteworthy. Join us for a fascinating exploration of the blackest flowers of all, just in time for Halloween!
This class will be live-streamed via Webex. You can participate from your phone, tablet, or computer. We encourage you to install Cisco Webex Meetings before the event starts. You will not be able to access the class until just before it starts. Class starts at 7 PM CST, Saskatchewan time, and the waiting room will open 15 minutes before class start time.
