Business Process Management for Operations Excellence

Introduction and Background

Business process management is concerned with designing, planning and controlling the operations in an organization. In other words, the journeys of value-adding activities that an organization’s customers, employees, materials, energy and information all undertake.

In this course, you will learn about process management methods and how to apply them to improve the operations in different types of organizations. You will learn how to plot process drivers, identify the root cause of gaps in performance, redesign and map processes, and develop plans for process change.

The course will use exercises and a simulation to promote interaction among participants and applied learning. The simulation will allow you to reflect on, use, and experience some of the key decision making central to business process management.
