Coach-Approach to Leadership

Introduction & Background

Participants will discover coaching as a powerful leadership tool – and walk away with the skills to apply the coach-approach in the workplace immediately.  The program provides conversation frameworks for communicating with others designed to engage, empower, and inspire forward action with people at all levels in the ever-increasing complex and changing world.

The program is highly interactive and participants apply their new knowledge in action, developing and enhancing their coaching, communication, and feedback skills.  The program incorporates current research and best practices in neuroscience, emotional intelligence, positive psychology and appreciative inquiry.  The content methodology is blended with practical and insightful exercises, models, and processes designed to fast-track learning and engagement. 

The program incorporates powerful video examples to enhance the learning to the next level, creating an experience and teaching point for participants. The video scenarios demonstrate leaders and staff, as they work through the challenges of a major workplace change and restructuring. Each scenario demonstrates significant change and transition within the workplace.

 

Program Structure

All participant materials will be sent prior to the course start date. Program learning includes an online virtual classroom through ZOOM. Participants are required to have access to a computer/laptop with sound capabilities (speakers and microphone) and a built-in camera or webcam. You can also join the webinar by phone. All phone numbers and access IDs will be provided to participants. Participants should also have access to a quiet and private space for learning.

  • Explore enhanced feedback skills employing Intentional Language, Developmental Feedback and Acknowledging
  • Apply the DIRECT Feedback™ Model to a performance conversation
  • Gain awareness of workplace styles and adapting your own style

Refund Policy

University of Saskatchewan's liability is limited to reimbursement of paid tuition fees. Cancellations received at least ten (10) business days in advance of the course commencement date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than ten (10) business days prior to the course commencement date will be subject to a $500 administration fee. Cancellations received less than three (3) business days prior to the course commencement date will be subject to full course tuition cost. Non-attendance will incur full course tuition cost. Fees subject to change without notice. Program Transfer Policy: One course transfer will be permitted without penalty if the cancellation request is received more than ten (10) business days prior to the course start date. Program transfers within ten (10) business days of the course start date will be subject to a $300 administration fee. Alternate program transfers may be approved dependent on course availability. Transfer requests must be scheduled within six (6) months of the initial purchase. Applicants will be responsible for any price difference in program fees at the time of the request. Each subsequent transfer request will be subject to $300 administration fee.
