FREE - Going Wild in the Garden

Our gardens are full of plants that originated in far-flung parts of the world. Dahlias from Central America. Tulips from the Middle East. Begonias from Brazil. These exotic plants give us a lot of pleasure, but they are visitors here, not entirely at home in our ecosystem. Local native plants, by contrast, have been blooming on the northern prairies for thousands of years, attuned not only to the soil and the climate but also to the insects, birds and animals that evolved alongside them. Join two enthusiastic wildflower gardeners as they explain why they have welcomed native plants into their yards, introduce you to some of their favourite species and explore the many benefits--ecological, monetary, aesthetic and spiritual--of getting to know these wild beauties.
