Glass Fusion III

  • Learn the process of developing plans & techniques needed for more complex fused glass pieces.
  • We will discuss strip cutting, pot melts, textural treatments of vessel pieces, copper tooled inclusions, sandblasting, cold working and anything else of interest that arises.
  • Bring a concept to start your project.
  • Day one is spent designing and discussing projects and testing techniques. Individual projects are discussed as a group.
  • Projects may include starting larger bowl or platter shapes, multiple pieces, considerations in planning a fused glass sink, or a flat tile project.
  • As projects develop, multiple firings may be needed to complete your project, so you may want to have access to a kiln and glass working tools to complete pieces.
  • Some glass is provided but you may bring any special Bullseye or Spectrum 96 glass and or special molds that you wish to work with.
  • Drawing, pattern making (poster board & carbon paper) and glass cutting tools are required. Feel free to call Lee with any questions.
  • For details, download the USCAD Calendar.
