Large Scale Rural Trees

Rural homeowners want shade, wind protections, privacy and low maintenance as well as beauty in their landscapes.  Faced with large areas and limited water, what characteristics should they look for in selecting trees and shrubs?  This workshop discusses placement considerations, the advantages of a mixed border as well as planting and aftercare.  It covers a huge range of trees and shrubs suitable for the rural landscape - from our familiar lilacs to 'Sem' false spirea (great for dry shade) and oak, Ohio buckeye, 'Black Hills' spruce and Ussurian pears.  The list is enormous!
