OE Master Clinic on Solving Tough Problems

Required Course of the Operational Excellence Certificate

The Operational Excellence Certificate (OEC) Program gives seminar attendees the knowledge to use a variety of process improvement tools, methods, and techniques. There is a particular emphasis on process mapping, lean tools, methods, and techniques, and rigorous problems solving involving all types of problems. Improvement activities run the gamut from easily implementable ideas through a “clean sheet” process redesign. In addition all of the classes use the “learn by doing” approach where attendees immediately use the tools, methods, and techniques on their own organizations. It is very common that the classes pay for themselves through improvements and cost savings.

The Operational Excellence Certificate is a learning path made up of four separate courses and when all four courses are completed in a 3-year timeframe we will award the Operational Excellence Certificate to the participant.

Required Courses:

Most problems in organizations fall into six general categories. Particularly knotty problems involve some combination of the six. When managers are unable to diagnose the problem, they are likely to use the wrong problem-solving approach. This leaves them frustrated and exhausted - and no further along in fixing the problem.

This course is designed to help you identify which category your toughest problem falls into. Once you understand the problem type you can select the best problem-solving method for your specific problem, and follow a straightforward roadmap to a lasting solution. The objective is to dramatically improve your problem solving abilities for all types of problems, and to make you a better business thinker and decision maker.

The main feature of this clinic is to address, analyze and solve your toughest problems. You will also learn how to classify other problems, and use the best approach to solving each problem type.
