Painting: Open Project

  • Prerequisite: Painting 1 or comparable experience
  • Work from any subject matter using materials of your choosing with the support of an experienced instructor.
  • Advice and class critique encourage completion of technically sound work with an emphasis on personal growth and development.

Requisites

Prerequisite: Painting 1 or comparable experience

  • Open Studio is a class for people with some painting experience. Degen always sets up a still life, but students may choose to work from their own imagination or their own photographs instead. Colour theory and the elements of design and composition will be discussed. Degen will help each student individually throughout the class term, although she often finds that students learn as much from each other as they do from her. Learning how to give constructive feed-back and encouragement to other artists benefits everyon

Refund Policy

Withdrawal from courses: Students may withdraw from a course at any time. A $75 withdrawal fee is charged for withdrawing from a course prior to course start date. No course refund is processed after this time. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal. The Arts & Sciences Non-Credit Programming Unit reserves the right to cancel courses when there is insufficient enrollment, in these cases a full refund will be issued. No transfers will be allowed from one term to another term. If a class is cancelled during the term, these hours will be rescheduled and made up. However, if a student misses a class, no rescheduling or make up classes occur.
