Painting Towards Abstraction III

UofS Certificate of Art & Design (USCAD)

• This course will move you further toward understanding abstraction in painting.
• You may use any media of your choice.
• Emphasis is placed on how formal elements of art (e.g. line, colour etc) can be maximized to develop your own style.
• The goal is to assist you in identifying an area of emphasis to support your focus in a series to be developed over the course.
• Each painting should be an expression of further development and should challenge you.
• The expression, style and form of your work will be personal in nature.
• Group and one-on-one critiques are integral to this self-directed class.
