Think April and May! There’s much more to prairie spring gardens than phlox, double flowering plum, and bleeding heart. What about the blooms of ‘Royal Pink Beauty’ or 'Princess Kay' plums or 'Spring Snow' crabapple? Or spring adonis, Callianthumum, Corydalis or Draba (not really drab at all!)? Here’s a host of perfectly hardy, attractive and well behaved (but often underused) perennials, bulbs, trees and shrubs to expand the pallet of your spring garden.
