Weed Control in Organic Agriculture (PLSC 234.3) Home Study

Non-Credit Online Course

Organic farming offers the potential of lucrative markets for healthy food and of sustainable, climate friendly and regenerative practices. Organic farming is based on biological and ecological relationships, and whole farm management. Ecological weed management is a key factor in making this work. Organic practices are also entirely accessible to non-organic farmers, including those facing herbicide resistant weeds or those seeking to understand the relationship between farm practice and weed communities.

Course curriculum covers:

• principals and practices of weed management in organic field crop production.
• aspects of basic weed biology and ecology that make weeds vulnerable to various management techniques.
• practical cultural, mechanical, and biological techniques within an integrated weed management system
• online group discussions
• opportunity to develop an organic weed management system for your operation.

Refund Policy

A 50% refund will be issued, minus a $60.00 + taxes administrative fee within 10 business days after receiving online access (NSID) and password. No refund will be issued after 10 business days of receiving online access (NSID) and password.
